I am beyond sick of hearing about Peyton Manning and the Colts. Everyone liked to point the finger at New England for "cheating" in the Spygate, but god forbid ONE of you people point out some obvious BS comming from Indy!
Let me begin first by pointing out the ultimate setup due in part to the NFL. In 2002 the Indianapolis Colts were realigned to the AFC South after spending 31 years in the AFC East. This was due to the Houston Texans being activated in 2002. The interesting topic is the AFC South itself, it is made up primarily of teams that had not been activated prior to 1995 ( the Jaguars activated in 1995, Titans renamed and restaffed in 1999, and Texans activated in 2002), so in other words, you had a team going into a division with relative inexperienced rivals.
The biggest question is why was Indianapolis allowed to exit the AFC East and enter the AFC South considering geographical layout. Would not the Miami Dolphins made more sense if the NFL was to align an experienced team to the AFC South?
Another interesting subject is the 2002 shift began the VERY next year after New England won their first Superbowl. It is widely known that while Tom Brady was only a 6th Rd Pick ,199 Overall in the 2000 NFL Draft ( which normally someone at that number isn't expected to succeed in the NFL) Peyton Manning on the other hand, was a 1st Rd 1st Pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. He was INTENDED to be a franchise QB for the Colts, Brady was not for the Patriots.
It should be pointed out that during Indianapolis' era in the AFC East, they only clinched their division 6 times in 31 seasons. Since their move to the AFC South, they have clinched their division 5 times thusfar and at the end of this season, it will be 6 as well. Does this not seem strange to anyone else?
Let's get to the real problem though, Peyton Manning himself. Turn on your tv right now, I gurantee you that within 1 hr you will see at least 1 if not 2 commercials containing Peyton Manning. Thats about 91% more media exposure than ANY other NFL player, the only other player with that much exposure is none other than his brother, Eli Manning. Apparently the world and the media loves the Mannings don't they? Even before the Colts won their Superbowl in 2006, Peyton Manning was on almost every commercial, crowning himself as the greatest. Prior to 2006, he was the NFL's greatest choke in the post season by the way.
But look at their games in a season, specifically THIS season, they win by the narrowest of margins. Now while that is no crime and often indicates a great team, they win almost unnaturally within the second half. Look at their season this year. In all but 3 games, they have trailed by a fair margin the first half, then all of sudden they become a different team in the second. Come on, NO team can mount that many believable comebacks in a year. During New England's perfect season in 2007, their wins were all decisive except against Philadelphi, Baltimore, and New York Giants in which the ENTIRE game was a slugfest, not a one-sided affair.
To add insult to injury, last year Manning was given his 3rd MVP in his career despite not doing anything outstanding to warrant such an honor. It was widely argued Drew Brees was robbed of the MVP that year. His only season as a decisive MVP was 2004, his 2003 was CO-MVP with Steve McNair which many argued was a robbery against McNair.
Last but not least, let's remember 2007 when the Patriots were nabbed for Spygate, that just a few weeks later, the Colts were caught dumping excessive noise into the RCA Dome to distract teams. While they WERE caught, the NFL Commission refused to punish the Colts. Very fair isn't it?
So I leave you all with this. You can crown that big-headed Mongoloid retard Peyton Manning all the hell you want to, but in the end, what matters most is the rings on your hand, thus far? He holds just one. In his era? Ben Rothleisburger and Tom Brady each hold 2 and 3 ( respectively). Both QBs by the way are YOUNGER, thus they have accomplished far more than Peyton has ever set out to achieve.
