Drew Brees accounts for 5 TDs as Saints demolish fading Giants
Drew Brees took a few triumphant strides toward the goal post with the ball in his hand and rose up for an imitation, Michael Jordan-style dunk over the crossbar.
He had to settle for a finger-roll instead. It was one of the few times Brees came up short Monday night as the New Orleans Saints made everything look easy in a 49-24 victory over the slumping New York Giants, who have lost three straight.

RE: Drew Brees accounts for 5 TDs as Saints demolish fading Giants
I was really worried about this game--if the Saints had lost, they'd have been "tied" with the Falcons for the best in their division. However, the Saints simply dismantled the Giants piece by piece and made it seem easy. I'm not thinking "Superbowl" yet, but I'm having high expectations for the post-season, if Brees and Graham and Colston and all of the key players can stay healthy.

RE: Drew Brees accounts for 5 TDs as Saints demolish fading Giants
Indeed, Brees methodically picked the Giants apart, the same Giants team (plus or minus a few players) that beat the AFC leading Patriots just a few weeks ago mind you.
It's looking like the NFC may end how it started this season: Packers vs. Saints. Brees is probably craving revenge for the early season loss, but as impressive as the Saints look now, they seem to struggle somewhat on the road, therefore I don't see them going into Lambeau Field and beating the Pack. However, since the Saints are undefeated at home, it would be another story if they would meet up in the Superdome. |

This was crazy. Brees tore them apart. It was like a video game out there on Monday night.
Should be interesting to see how the Giants respond. If I were them, I'd be humiliated. |

I can see them coming out and really taking the game to the Packers they won't play as badly and be carved up as easily at home as they were at the Superdome last Monday.
In saying that I can't see them winning because even the best the Giants have got is not good enough to beat the Pack in the form they're in this season. |

Brees is just too good these days. If the defense would just play a little better, the Saints could challenge the Packers. I would like to see them play again and probably will in the playoffs.

Brees is a beast. There's no doubt about it. I particularly wasn't worried for the Giants game myself. I enjoyed watching Drew stomp all over their defense. Green Bay is on the watch list though. Either they'll lose a season game and take it all the way again, or pull a patriots and go 16-0 just to lose the superbowl.

On another note, the Giants are 6-6 and currently trailing in the wildcard. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they totally miss the playoffs. At this point, seems like they will.

They could easily beat Dallas twice and be right back in the hunt, but New Orleans will make it in my opinion and give the Packers a run for their money.
