RE: Packers sell 185,000 stock shares
That does not surprise me. Isn't the team owned by the city anyway. No matter what, the Packers will always have a major fan base that will pay anything to buy stock in the team. Look how long it takes to get season tickets. The waiting list is like 10 years long and most of the time season ticket holders hand those tickets down to another family member. It is amazing the fan base the team has there.

RE: Packers sell 185,000 stock shares
Wow, I had no idea an NFL team could have a stock. I wonder how much the shares go for and if they increase in value. It could very well be a great investment with an NFL team that will surely be going places in the future!

RE: Packers sell 185,000 stock shares
Very intresting, I wouldn't mind to of picked up a couple of those shares when they first released them to the public for sale because they were probally pretty cheap.. Even if you sat on them for some time I think they could earn quiet a bit of money..

RE: Packers sell 185,000 stock shares
I'm not a fan of the packers (not not a fan just not a fan if htat makes sense.) But I've contemplated buying a share to to say that I 'own' and NFL team. I know, I'm a loser! lol

I know what you mean. I was also thinking that it would have been cool to buy a share even if for nothing more than to say that I owned stock in an NFL team.

RE: Packers sell 185,000 stock shares
I would love to be able to say I "own" stock in an NFL team as well. My only gripe with this is that even if you are a shareholder in the Packers it does not get you any perks in regards to tickets or merchandise, or access to memorabilia, etc. So, you are helping them out by buying shares in the team, but really have nothing to show for it other than the paper stating you own stock in them. But, it still would be cool to say you own a few shares of the Packers.

RE: Packers sell 185,000 stock shares
Its not even a tradeable stock. If you buy it, you're stuck with it. So they can sell as many as they want without diluting the value of it, they can charge whatever they want. You just buy to show you are a fan of the team, it holds no other real value.
