Falcons overcome 16-point deficit as Matt Ryan, Julio Jones burn Panthers

Ryan threw two of his four touchdown passes in the fourth-quarter to rookie Julio Jones and the Falcons erased a 16-point halftime deficit for a 31-23 victory on Sunday. Ryan finished with 320 yards passing and his four TDs matched a career high. Equally as important, Ryan kept the Falcons (8-5) in playoff position in the wild card race with three games left.

Jones is going to be a great receiver in the NFL if he can stay healthy, but I am not sure the Falcons can keep this up. They are on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs. I do see wildcard though.

I think Ryan is doing a much better job than most people expected. I definitely didn't expect him to do so well, but I'm happy for him and hopefully he can keep up the good work for the rest of the season.

Ryan is a good QB, and if Jones and White can become the players they seem to be, the Falcons will be fighting for a playoff spot every year. Turner and Gonzales are always going to perform, but the Falcons need some defensive help. That is it. Build that defense and they will be a champion.
