Drew Brees sets single-season passing record as Saints clinch NFC South
Brees set the NFL record for yards passing in a season, breaking a mark that Dan Marino had held for nearly three decades, and New Orleans clinched the NFC South title with a 45-16 victory over the Falcons.
Brees threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns, the last a 9-yard strike to Darren Sproles that set the record with 2:51 to go.

RE: Drew Brees sets single-season passing record as Saints clinch NFC South
And he still has one game left this year. Pretty impressive stuff though, Drew Brees is by far one of the best QB's in the league and it'd be hard to catch up to him. Thing is, this sport is turning into more of a passing game, so I doubt the stat will stay up there for too long. We have QBs like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers to compete with yet, so anything is possible.

RE: Drew Brees sets single-season passing record as Saints clinch NFC South
Drew Brees is currently at the top of his game. I personally believe, even with Green Bay completely running the boards this year, that the Saints could make it to the Super Bowl and even win it again. I'm personally so happy to have Brees playing for my team, and the fact that Sean Peyton is there along side of him to make some gutsy calls, followed by some gutsy throws.

It was great to see him be able to set this record. It is too bad that they did not make it all the way to the Super Bowl but he did have a really great season. That is for sure.
