Roger Goodell's contract extended
Now that the NFL has labor peace for the next decade, commissioner Roger Goodell has job security through the 2018 season.
Not only did Goodell get through one of the league's most contentious and troubling periods -- a 4½-month lockout of the players -- but he oversaw a highly successful season once a 10-year collective bargaining agreement was reached. On Wednesday, he reaped some rewards himself with a contract extension through March 2019. "It is the only place I have ever wanted to work," Goodell said after the league's compensation committee approved the extension. Read more: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/750239...018-season

RE: Roger Goodell's contract extended
Well he's no Paul Tagliabue or Pete Rozelle but I guess he will have to do. A lot better than Stern, Selig or Bettman.

RE: Roger Goodell's contract extended
Yeah he's not the best commissioner the NFL has ever seen but there's far worse out there running other sports, just ask fans, players, coaches, owners in the NBA.

I'm not happy about this, I had it in for this guy since he started penalizing people for harmless celebrations --NFL--NO FUN LEAGUE

RE: Roger Goodell's contract extended
Not the best guy for the job in my opinion; but the league is still growing and the game is still fun so let the man have his due.

That is such a silly comment; the league could easily get out of control if someone didn't decide to be the asshole. All these lawsuits could have been avoided if his predecessors did their jobs and protected the players. I don't disagree that he isn't the best ever, but he is doing everything he can to make up for the shit he inherited. |

RE: Roger Goodell's contract extended
I'd say he has done an excellent job cleaning up said shit as well. Celebrations are fun; but ultimately pointless and classless. Act like you've been there before.
