Curtis Martin leads six Hall enshrinees
Curtis Martin has gone from the mean streets of Pittsburgh to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The star running back with the Patriots and Jets for 11 seasons was one of six players elected Saturday to the shrine. Martin once disliked playing the game, but used it to escape a neighborhood where his grandmother was murdered.

Quote:Martin and four linemen were elected to the hall, along with one senior committee choice. He is joined by Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Willie Roaf, Dermontti Dawson, and senior selection Jack Butler.

Jerome Bettis, Cris Carter and Bill Parcells were among the finalists who didn't make it.

Jerome Bettis, Cris Carter and Bill Parcells can't be far away from the HoF.

Congratulations to all who were enshrined this season as always it's completely deserved.

Surprised Parcells didn't get in.

Curtis Martin was always a monster; glad to see him in the Hall after a long, impressive career. Fourth leading rusher in NFL history, I believe.

RE: Curtis Martin leads six Hall enshrinees
He was very consistent throughout the years. 10 straight 1000 yard rushing seasons is pretty nuts these days. I think that will be hard to replicate in the game today.

I loved watching Curtis play for the jets. I use to go to a couple games and he was always moving the chains. He is definitely well deserved for the hall.

RE: Curtis Martin leads six Hall enshrinees
I hate the fact that he ended up on the Jets; but I can't think of a player who deserves it more. All the best to Martin in whatever he is doing post retirement.
