Tim Hightower out for rest of year

From healthy, first-place surprise to battered and struggling, the Washington Redskins had their fortunes take another dive Monday when running back Tim Hightower was declared out for the season with a torn knee ligament and receiver Santana Moss underwent hand surgery that is expected to sideline him for 5-7 weeks.

That makes five starters lost to significant injuries over the last two weeks, coinciding with a two-game losing streak and a quarterback switch.

The injuries have decimated the Redskins and will likely add to the decline of their season. Mike Shanahan and his so-called 'Shanahanigans' are not helping the Redskins either. The loss of Tim Hightower is big but luckily the 'Skins have Ryan Torrain and Roy Helu standing by to step in. The biggest trouble for the 'Skins in my opinion is the quarterback situation and until that is remedied the 'Skins maybe out of luck in the always tough NFC East.
